چکیده

Biometrics is one of the recent trends in security, which is mainly used for verification and recognition systems. By using biometrics we confirm a particular person’s claimed identity based on particular person’s physiological or behavioral characteristics such as fingerprint, face or voice etc. Most biometric systems deployed in real-world applications are unimodal, such as they use a single source of information for authentication (e.g., single fingerprint, face, voice etc.). Some of the limitations imposed by unimodal biometric systems can be overcome by including multiple sources of information for establishing identity. In this paper, it is shown that fingerprint and face recognition can form a good combination for a multimodal biometric system.

Comparative Study of Different Fusion Techniques in Multimodal Biometric Authentication

Multimodal biometric authentication resolves no. of issues present in unimodal biometrics. There are number of ways for the fusion of different modalities in multimodal biometrics. Fusion could be either before matching the scores or after matching the score. The presented research paper deals with the comparative study of different techniques which performs fusion of information after matching...

Multimodal Biometric System Using Iris - Fingerprint: An Overview

Biometric recognition is automated recognition of individual based on the physiological and behavioral characteristics. Unimodal biometrics are facing problems like noisy data, intra class variation, inter class variation, spoofing attack etc. These limitations can be solved by using multimodal biometrics. Comparing to unimodal, multimodal biometric systems are performing better. A multimodal b...

Multimodal Biometrics it is: Need for Future Systems

A biometric system is essentially a pattern recognition system that operates by acquiring biometric data from an individual, extracting a feature set from the acquired data, and comparing this feature set against the template set in the database. Multimodal biometric systems are becoming more and more popular, they have more accuracy as compared to unimodal biometric systems. On the other hand ...

Palmprint and Face Based Multimodal Recognition Using Pso Dependent Feature Level Fusion

Biometrics refers to a scientific discipline which involves automatic methods for recognizing people based on their physiological or behavioural characteristics. Biometric systems that use a single trait are called unimodal systems, whereas those that integrate two or more traits are referred to as multimodal biometric systems. A multimodal biometric system requires an integration scheme to fus...
